IP Office 8.1.69. Customer moving from existing BCM400. Upgraded firmware on 1140e phone to SIP 04.03.12.00. Phone will work on IP Office but will only show 1 appearance which looks like the BCM intercom (4225 instead of appearance = a). Changed a setting and it appears to allow multiple inbound calls but still only shows 1 key. Does not change if manually setting or through user rights. Does anyone know how to show multiple appearance keys and how to dial a number without having to hit send hitting send or waiting 5 seconds for it to go on it's own?

Yeah, don't install those.

This is a SIP phone, so you basically use call waiting instead of call appearance, so toggling between calls on hold is a mess; just look it up in the user guide.

As for send, you'll have to setup a dial plan, like most sip PBX's and phones out there; do a search in this forum and you'll find it. Good luck, it's a hard way to learn a lesson; been there done that!

Thank you for responding so quickly. My office has already sold system to customer with one x, vmail pro, flare (the works). Unfortunately approx. 25 phones (all 1140e). How lucky am I? I will try to figure out dial plan. Thanks again.

Take a look at this, it pretty much tells you of my experience with it.

What really sucks is if you forget or later add a short code or dial string, you have to pull out the dial plan, edit, put it back in, and then reboot the phones or the system so they can download the updated one.

Be prepared to have that customer hate your guts; maybe you have better customers than I do, who knows.

Hey yankblan, how you getting on with that Mitel 5000 button programming...sucks hey :)

but no one answered the real question.

I want 2 Line appearance buttons too. Why is the key above the Line appearance left blank when the phone is configured with IP Office?

How do I modify the dial plan for the 1140E in the IP Office? Is it stored in system files and I can simply go in and edit it? You can change the dial time out to 2 seconds if you want the call to dial right away.

Because it's a SIP phone Gordon, SIP phones are single line phones like an analogue...it's due to the way SIP works :)

I do realize that, but I do think you can log in 2 extensions on one phone with another domain? I haven't tried it yet.

On the other question, where is the Dialplan.txt file stored so I can adjust my dial timeout?

"Keep the Peace, Use RLS"

11xxdialplan.txt would be on the SD card of your IPO, assuming you are using the memory card as the file server, which you have to do in order to download the button labels and key programming.

Embedded file management within the manager app. I don't think that file is there by default. You may have to create one and upload it to the card.

I have a dial plan txt file and I put it in the primary folder of the SD card. It does not look like the 1140e is seeing the new file. Manager is set for memory card. Any ideas?

I put the file in the System folder and the phone gets the file but I can't seem to change the timeout:

/* ------------------------------------------------------------------- */
/* */
/* Avaya 1100-series IP Deskphone Dial Plan */
/* */
/* ------------------------------------------------------------------- */
/* Domain used in the dialed URL of the SIP INVITE message */
$n="192.168.1.133"
$t=300
%%
/* DIGITMAP: 12 digits starting with 9 followed by an initial 1 */
(9[1]x{10})|(9[1]x{10})# && sip:$$@$n;user=phone && t=300

/* DIGITMAP: 8 digits starting with 9 */
(9[2-9]x{6})|(9[2-9]x{6})# && sip:$$@$n;user=phone && t=300

/* DIGITMAP: Extensions beginning with 4 (Telephone Users)*/
(4x{4})|(4x{4})# && sip:$$@$n;user=phone && t=300

/* DIGITMAP: Extensions beginning with 5 (Telephone Users)*/
(5x{4})|(5x{4})# && sip:$$@$n;user=phone && t=300

/* DIGITMAP: Extensions beginning with 2 (Telephone Users)*/
(2x{4})|(2x{4})# && sip:$$@$n;user=phone && t=300

/* DIGITMAP: Extensions beginning with 8 */
(8x{4})|(8x{4})# && sip:$$@$n;user=phone && t=300

/* DIGITMAP: Extensions beginning with 1 */
(1x{4})|(1x{4})# && sip:$$@$n;user=phone && t=300

/* DIGITMAP: 911 Emergency */
(911|911)# && sip:$$@$n;user=phone && t=300 ***911 dialing***

/* DIGITMAP: 9911 Emergency */
(9911|9911)# && sip:$$@$n;user=phone && t=300 ***9911 dialing***

/* End of Dial Plan */

My extension are 4 digit starting with 4 (4XXX). I thought t=300 was the timeout.

Do I have to use certain increments?

You're looking for 5 digit extensions the way your dialplan is written.

Change this:

/* DIGITMAP: Extensions beginning with 4 (Telephone Users)*/
(4x{4})|(4x{4})# && sip:$$@$n;user=phone && t=300

to this:

/* DIGITMAP: Extensions beginning with 4 (Telephone Users)*/
(4x{3})|(4x{3})# && sip:$$@$n;user=phone && t=300

Reboot the phone and try it again. It's a regular expression, so you're telling the phone to look for a leading 4 and any 3 digits afterwards. The way you had it it was waiting for a 5th digit to be dialed.

Thank you. I changed it back but have not have a chance to update post. I put the file on the SD card under system folder, primary folder and System SD. All seem to load file when phone boots but phone waits 5 seconds prior to dialing after last digit of 4XXX (unless y0u press send). Is t=300 the timeout setting? Am I putting it in the right folder? If I can get this resolved it will be easier for the customer to overlook other functionality on the phones.

Thanks in advance.

Got it.

$t=300 at top needs to be changed to $t=50 for sending immediate after last digit dialed. load file into primary folder and boot phone.

Does not look at individual line t=300

Thanks everyone.
