1140E message key

I have installed several 1140E phones and can't get the msg/inbox key to work. Checking with Nortel I have been unable to find more than the proviso "msg/inbox key may not function with all systems - check with your administrator". I checked with myself and I still don't know. What gives?

did you program key 16 mwk xxxx, where x=voicemails main number?

I did not. Thanks. Thought it was a hard key.

It is a hard key in the sense that key 16 can only be MWK or NUL. No other features will work on that key.

Hard keys still have to be programmed sometimes.
