Never known you could do that. Once the firmware is on the EM, when a phone boots, it will pull that. If the FW on the EM is upgraded, eventually the existing IP sets will recevie the FW as well. never known a way to schedule the upgrade. Traditionally we do it over the weekend, but you could have a ton of users and there may be some impact to your customers.

I believe in LD 117 the RST commands can be used to schedule a reboot of the IP phones. Haven't used it for this but I have done a RST Zone Start to manually cause a phone reboot. Looks like you could do RST Zone Start HH:MM.
Are you aware of the following problems with the 1140 phones as shown below.
Hardware changes made to the IP Phone 1120E and IP Phone 1140E product design have recently been introduced into the factories. One of the changes was within the power circuitry to include additional power efficiencies for both IP Phone models. Both IP Phone 1120E and IP Phone 1140E models continue to support IEEE standard 802.3af for power over Ethernet as Class 3 devices.
The new hardware requires a minimum IP Phone Firmware of UNIStim Firmware Rls 3.1or SIP firmware 2.1. The product models ship from the factory with either the UNIStim Firmware or SIP firmware minimum release levels installed, and the units also contain a mechanism to avoid a Firmware downgrade to below the required minimum version.
Customers are encouraged to upgrade their call servers as needed to support the minimum release of UNIStim Firmware Rls 3.1 or SIP Firmware Rls 2.1. Related product information can be found in Product Bulletin
P-2008-0222-Global Rev1 which describes the UNIStim Firmware Rls 3.1 features
IP phones requiring minimum UNIStim 3.1 firmware:
New PEC rls no. Description
NTYS03ADE6 01 IP Phone 1120E with icon keycaps
NTYS03BDE6 01 IP Phone 1120E with eng keycaps
NTYS05ADE6 50 IP Phone 1140E with icon keycaps
NTYS05BDE6 50 IP Phone 1140E with eng keycaps
Important Note for customers with CS1000 networks and SRG branch office sites:
Restriction in the usage of “umsUpgradeAll”: It should be noted that an 'umsUpgradeAll' Main Office system command should not be executed when a CS1000 network contains SRG(50) branch office sites running IP Phone 1120E and/or IP Phone1140E units (with the hardware changes described in this Product Bulletin) when the IP Phone Firmware at the Main Office precedes C6J (i.e. pre UNIStim 3.1).
If the IP Phone Firmware at the Main Office precedes C6J (i.e. pre UNIStim 3.1) then it should be replaced by IP Phone Firmware that is version C6J or later, prior to the 'umsUpgradeAll' command being executed. If the 'umsUpgradeAll' command is executed when the Main Office IP Phone Firmware precedes C6J then the enhanced hardware IP Phone 1120E and IP Phone 1140E units will be in a continual download cycle and therefore will not provide service.

Very interesting comment, can you let me know where it was lifted from please? I can't see the statement about the SRG sites in the current few unistim product bulletins and I would like to have the original to back up something I'm saying.
If you look in the Release notes for the latest Unistim Firmware there is a table with set types/Releases and minimum FW levels. Most the new sets shipped now need a minimum of C8Q.
I wouldnt worry too much about the upgrade of existing as the system will not perform it while a set is in use and it only take a set 5 mins or so to upgrade. I would just let them upgrade and then if there are some that dont just pick your best time and isetReset <ip address> in the Sig Server CLI the ones that havent done the upgrade.
