I have some 1120E IP phones that every once in a while when the calls connects to the caller. (coming in or going out). the phone itself starts to buzz and locks up. The phone needs the power disconnected to stop the buzzing. The phone will then work ok when the power is reconnected. All the phones are on the same server. CS1000 R7.0 Not getting any errors on PBX side or the network side. Anyone seen the problem or have any thought what is causing this to happen

We are experiencing a similar problem. 1120 and 1140 sets. Sounds like a 1k tone. Won't stop until set power-cycled. The switch is rls 6. We have tried 3 different versions of fw. Suspecting something external triggering the buzzing. Found reference to this trbl:Re: 4620 IP Avaya Phone Buzzing
here's the answer. A certain "band" of Blackberry causes the buzzing.. and can cause this buzzing from about 10 feet away. Only phones using an international band can cause the buzzing.. all other cell phones seem fine from 1" away. Comical so much time wasted on this.. Replaced were the phone, all cable, house-cable, power supply..

I am tracking the NTYS #s of the sets in-case it is a bad batch of sets.

This only happen on our 1120E phone. Since we uploaded the latest firmware to the phones about two weeks ago we have not had it happen again yet. So far this has stopped the buzzing.

Was at "C7J" when it started happening. Went to "C8G" hasn't happen yet. Couple days ago took a couple of phones to "C8J". They working fine at "C7J" for a long time then all of a sudden the buzzing started.

We have been running C8G for a few months now. The network components are Extreme Networks. After upgrading the switches on the data network, the intermitant trbl escalated to about 30 sets per day. After a week they rolled back the upgrade and the fequency decreased to 1 or 2 per week, sometimes a month between occurances.

I started noticing the buzzing after our network people upgraded the firmware on the network(Enterasys). I'm stating to think the new firmware on network didn't like the older firmware on the IP phones. Since upgrading the firmware on the phones we haven't had any buzzing yet.

Yes, that is what it sounds like.Still haven't had any buzzing still firmware upgrade about a month ago.
