Wondering if anyone is using a headset lifter for remote answer/hangup via headsets on Nortel/Avaya 1120e phones.

The Plantronics HL-10 handset lifters that worked so great with the 2000 and 3900 series phones don't work on the curvy 1120 IP phone handsets. Handset slides down the lifter once it goes up and won't hang the phone up.

What are you using?

for the cost of the headset, might be cheaper to go with an 1140 and a bluetooth headset that allows remote pickup / hangup right off the headset.

Unfortunately, we were sold the 1120's and they're deployed. They are our first IP phones.

However, everyone's used to the longer range of the Plantronics wireless. Shorter range of the Bluetooth may not suffice.

So, Bluetooth will answer and hang up an 1140 without a lifter, eh?

yep, depending on the firmware and type of headset, i had a customer use it... they seemed to like it but they were not on a queue (acd) environment.

Plantronics does have an electronic hookswitch ... no need for a lifter.

And yes Bluetooth does work just fine except for the range limitation.

Tman45, thanks. I just found the EHS. Never new such a thing existed. This is just what I need for these IP phones if it works as advertised.

Thanks all for your input.

you can purchase the Jabra 9350e wireless headset and hook up the wireless headset to the 1120E USB port, you should be able to pickup calls from the wireless headset. Of course, you have to make sure your 1120E has the latest firmware. The jabra 9350e wireless headset is a little expensive thought.

the jabra go6470 with ehs cable is pretty cool....beats 9330e and 9350's. higher frequency with no issue in multiusers in same room ..ie..helpdesk
