I have an excel project that will be printed from another PC attached to a printer capable of 11 x 17. Does anyone know how I can set my print setting to 11 x 17, even though my printer is incapable? The project will be transferred via jump drive - the two PC's are not physically connected. What I would like is to set 11 x 17 as the print area in excel, so I can work within that layout. (Using Office 2000)

Thanks

smah's right- Excel gives you all the options in paper size regradless of which driver you have selected, ie it knows nothing about the actual printer

MY excel has no option for 11 x 17, so what am I missing?

In Excel 2000, in the Paper Size drop-down list, it's called Tabloid (11x17).

Nope - no tabloid either. Below is my list. I have never heard of some of those things. Is custom the only way to go?

Thanks

In some applications, you need to have the printer installed on the pc, whether or not it actually exists as a physical connection. Then you can set up your page for a particular printer and the sizes etc that the printer supports.

Thanks nsw155. I installed the driver for the hp 9650 and presto - 11 x 17 now shows up as one of the choices. I can't believe it was that simple. I guess I couldn't see the forest for the trees.
