Hi Guys
I've got a bit of a bizarre one for you
I'm using a LAMP system and last night I deleted one of my databases and inserted some data into another database but today - nothing too special.
But today none of my sites (powered by Mambo, Wordpress, MiniBB and PhpBB) which use a variety of other databases on the same server want to connect to the server - when I try to connect via a telnet shell with mysql -u myusername -p mypassword I am told that an erro 1045 has occurred and myusername@numericalIPaddress cannot connect to server, but I HAVE NOT changed any of the hostname/db username/passwords or other database names nor have I changed any of the server or website configuration files.
But and heres the strange thing - if I use my hosts control panel which uses PhpMyadmin - it CAN connect (this time it links through myUsername@something.whatever.com)
This is now quite srious and I'm not sure what to do to fix it - has anyone got any suggestions - I am on shared hosting so can't just reinstall MySQL (before anyone suggests it ;-) )
Thanks in advance for ANY suggestions....
Chris
