I have a main site with an Option 81 with sig servers and NRs. We have 1000M sites that connect over sip thru theoption 81. When users are making SIP calls the 1000m sites will not release the virtual trunks after calls are completed on the 1000m side which is causing all trunks to fill up. When you stat the SS at the 1000M sites the trunks show 64 of 64 busy. They will not release. If you stat the individual MGcards on the 1000m side they show just a handfull of busy channels. Thoughts?

What card are you talking about when you say MGcards. Media Cards or what? The SIP trunks don't have a direct correlation to Media Cards. However, my forst thought would be a configuration problem and or a patch that is not applied or not current.

Yes media gateway cards. Are you thinking a patch on the sig servers? We havent mad any config changes to the pbx.

Yes, a patch on the SS and or loadware on the MGC cards. But more than likely a SS patch for VTRK, aka, virtual trunks. That's the first thing Avaya is going to tell you to do, patch it current.
