I have installed a 4.5 1000E system and cannot get ANY M3904 or M3903 sets to work directly off the backplane. I can IDC each and every card but an IDU of the sets I get an npr503 error. I also see no visual indication when plugging the set in for any of the 10 shelves that house NT8D02 cards.
Any thoughts would be great

what do your xpe's look like.. ? ld 97 prt xpe then ld 32 idcs x on the xpe..

when you plug in a set, you do not get a single flash? that would make me think the shelf ps is bad.. if it's a single ipe.. i would dsxp x disl x then enll x, enxp x.. i'm sure by now you've ini'ed

Do you have only 1 Media Gateway or more
The MG could be defective. The power supply may not give the correct power

dlesap.. i need to vrush up on the new nortel naming scheme, the 1000e does not have a core, but does support ipe's ?

i've got that data at work

CS1000E architecture is:
- 2 CPU Penthium 4 but no network parts connected each other with both ELAN and HSP(database synchro)
- at least 1 SigServ for IP phone registering, gatekeeper application, Personnal directory and Call log.
- at least 1 Media Gateway for Virtual Conference loops, TDS, MOH, and as many TDM board as needed. With rls 4.5, MG limit is 30. With rls 5.0 it s extended to 50 MG

With rls 4.5, a connection to pstn is needed through a CS1000T or CS1000M. Also possible through another H323 or SIP trunk interact with another manufacter. (Cisco, Asrerisk, Alcatel, ...)
With rls 5.0, the network parts that was missing in the previous rls is now integrated. Hardware has been largely modify with rls 5.0 but for CS1000E only SigServ memory expansion is required

It is now a great step to do to move to that new technology. If you wish to keep on be the king of Nortel PBXs, don t hesitate to have training courses at Nortel...

here is the LD 97 and LD 135 print out - all IP addresses are reached via the ping command in LD 117 as well as the signalling server and NRS server

John,

Tried everything.... removed all ELAN and TLAN connections and re-did them, reloaded and still nothing - NO FLASH on any PE cable for a digital set. Tomorrow I am bringing an NT8D09 card to site and will try to get dial tone from an analog set.

Any ideas???????

OK your MG looks to be connected from ELAN.

What s about the unpair wire of the M390x:
Did you tried to change the set cabling the other way?

Do you also have the same problem with analog set?

Did you load patches on MG as well as on CS?
The deplist charged must contain both .pp4 and .ssc patches

without being on site, i'm handcuffed.. 1st test the ps.. since it has never worked.. tlan and elan ping, i have had those two cables marked backwards from the factory, several times..

if i power an ipe, connect a 3900.. no net cable.. i still get a dataflash when that set powers up.. no software.. connect a meter or even a buttset to the tn.. software, or ip connections can not remove operating voltage..

If you have multi-meter check DC voltage at the frame (MDF) for your 39XX TN. Should get around -28.8 VDC. Check at your station connection point (user end) for same voltage. ALso double check the amphenol connectors with the velcro strap that you have a good tight connection.
