Hi Guys,

I have a 3640 that an SNMP trap shows my bandwidth on a FastEthernet connection is bursting above 100% any ideas as to seeing what is causing this? I see a lot of input drops.

Thanks,

Doug

please post a sh int fa (whatever interface is having trouble).

If you're really moving that much traffic through that interface then you're going to need a bigger router. A 3640 probably can't actually move more than perhaps 50 Mbps of traffic through it, even though it supports faster interfaces. If you ever try to send more than that through the router, you will see dropped packets. The router simply doesn't have the horsepower to move that much data quickly.
