100% cpu usage by explorer

Hi there,

Is there anyone who can tell me what to do about my explorer using 100% of my processor time?
This happens frequently, and is verry frustrating.

I thought I had a fast pc (amd athlon 2000+), but this way it looks like a 386 sometimes.......

I tried a few things in the mean while......

- removing damaged registry keys
- defragmentation
- check disk

None of this helped.
After this I killed my virus scanner (MCaffee) and the problem was solved.

I unistalled the MCaffee software and installed Norton AV.

This works great, plus Norton is more customer friendly.
