Ok. I have a cisco 2611 that has two ethernet cards.
I have two networks coming over same serial interface.

But the networks can't "see" each other. They are on the same router...whats wrong?

Hi djohnv.... please expand...

What is your problem and relevance to the ethernet ports?

Can you post a config please?

Lets just say
(I'm making these IP's up)
eth0/0 is 33.33.33.33
eth0/1 is 33.44.33.33

The hosts on the 33.33 network can't see hosts on the 33.44 network.

Again, a config would help. Did you set up any kind of static or dynamic routing?

djohnv (ISP),

..is the network setup like this...

clients(.33)<-->switch<-->2611<-->switch<-->(.44)clients

.33 clients cant ping for example 33.44.33.36 (micellaneous workstation)
..but clients on the .33 can ping 33.44.33.33 (the .44's gateway on 2611)

..if this is the case i would say the cleints on .44 do not know how to route to the .33 subnet..

..any comments..

Your stations on your (.33)subnet must use the router ip address of the same subnet as the default gateway or have a route to the (.44) subnet on the gateway they are already using and viseversa.

Ill bet you can telnet into the router and ping everything, right?

POST the config. there are alot of willing helpers here.

djohnv...

You have 2 ethernet connections.. one is on your 33.44.... what subnet mask are you using? the other is on 33.33....

Can you post a "show ip route"

If both of these networks are directly connected to the router.... static/ dynamic routes should not be required

Have you given both interfaces an IP address on the relevant network and done a "no shut" on both?

Post a "show ip interface brief" please and a CONFIG

Cheers

if he can't ping the other network its a gateway issue...
they are connected interfaces and no routing is required.
verify the default gateways of both end stations are of the respecitve eth port on the 2611

Wrong subnet mask would effect the gateway.

Post a config. Remove any line that includes password, even if it doesn't look legible.
