1 out of 3 POS suddely goes down on its own..

I have been having this same issue arise every once in a while and it drives me crazy.. i use TEK-TIPS to read often about Aloha POS so I am hoping someone has come across such a dilemma and maybe can lend a hand..:

We have a 3 terminal system with table service running Aloha version 6.4.15.1244.
All 3 terminals would be online and would have the bouncy logo running and suddenly terminal 1 would freeze and encounter an error. The terminal would restart and when it came back up it would go through the transaction log and stop at a random percentage each time and pop up with a error stating that "Aloha Table Service has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience". The weird thing is that the other terminals (term2 and term3) are online and running just fine. I have troubleshooted as best as i could and here are some of the things i have done:

1. i checked all network settings (nothing has been changed, no upgrades, etc..)
2. I deleted all files from the bin folder and data folder on the terminal and manually copied over them from the file server.
3. I tried doing a fresh terminal installation.
4. I verified that all folder permissions are good.

Can anyone help? I would truly appreciate any input because im starting to get bald from pulling my hair out my head!

This debout show the terminal starting Aloha at 10:35PM, where is the info before this when it first crashed? The .dmp file can be analyzed using WinDbg and it is just your standard app crash dump file. Without some more info like the Windows event logs, figuring out a C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION can be tricky. Without knowing too much about your situation, but you stating it is just the one terminal and this terminal happens to be a Radiant terminal, my educated guess would be a hardware issue with this particular terminal (Which they are known for).

I would also check to make sure the user name and password for windows is the same on all computers, the share drive on all 3 has the same permission. My experience has been when term2 becomes the master, term1 does not go back online it has something to do with how term2 is setup.

If it is crashing at a random point on reading the trans.log, it may be a corrupt log. Also verify that your system date and time is correct on that terminal. Verify that the correct permissions are set on the shared drive.
