Hello all,

Just need confirmation with some Exchange config.

Two email domains, domain.com (London), domaineurope.com (paris Madrid and Netherlands) and one exchange 2003 server.

So i am going to setup two recipient policies and filter them by office location so they when anyone email user@domain.com the email will be received by the user in London. and when anyone sends an email to user@domaineurope.com, the user in one of the EU branches received the email.

But, do i need to create an additional SMTP virtual server and filter them by domain name or IP subnet?

I just done a bit of reading and i think i do but to filter by Domain name apparantly impacts heavily on server performance.

All feedback appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks 58sniper,

Have to say, that was a super fast response.

Yeah that's what i thought but just wanted to be sure.

We are going from 2 IPSWitch IMail servers to one Exchange 2003 Server.

Both MX recoreds at the ISP will be on the same IP address.

Testing it this weekend.

Thanks.

Both domains to one ip address so domain.com and domaineurope.com to the same IP. Weather they use two records or one, as long as the email is received by our gateways I’m happy.
