I have a complex 1-2-3 spreadsheet, loaded with macros, size approx 13Mb running under Windows XP. From time to time when I open it , it has lost all its formatting (fonts, colours, style). There is no apparent reason for this. I have to go back to a previous good version, re-enter data and go again. Can anyone help ?

It's a common problem with Lotus release 4 & 5 with XP. I found it myself on this forum after searching for 6 months or more. You just go to your desktop, right click and select properties, go to the "appearance" tab, click on the "settings" button near the bottom and UNCHECK the first one which says "Use the following transition effect for menus and tooltips". click "okay", "apply" & okay again. Your color Palletes will return.

Jockopa: Thank you, thank you, thank you. I suspected XP was the problem but I had no idea how to fix it. This is a wonderful resource. Everytime I have a problem with my indispensable Lotus 123 Ver 5, I find the answer here within minutes.
