I have a W2K SVR SP2.
Everything worked fine untill I installed a new 60Gb IBM HD as slave on IDE1.
IDE1: Master 40 Gb Maxtor
Slave 60 Gb IBM
IDE2: Master CDRW HP9100i
Slave DVD

Now, I got most of the times the BSOD and the message '0x0000007b Inaccessible_boot_device'.

When I really insist (after minimum 10 times retooting), the machine will come up and everything works perfectly.

I noticed the problem sets at load mup.sys.

Anyone who has a solution

HI!

Check IDE cabling and jumpers.
On newer systems you should use the 80 conductor 40 pin high quality cables,
and the recomended setting for jumpers is cable select (on both drives), placing the first drive at the end (MASTER) of the IDE cable and second drive at the middle (SLAVE).

If you still have problems, try disconnecting the CDROM & DVD, and place each drive as single on different cables.
You will obviously want to put back the CD drives but this will help you with troubleshooting.

Bye
