I am having a weird problem. I am working on a DEll optiplex gx110 series and keep having the same exact issue with two identical pcs. During the installation of either 98, 2k pro, or xp, I keep getting a million 07's across the monitor after the system reboots after it copies the files to the hard drive. I have tried installing the os with the 98 boot disk as well as madboot and I keep getting the same outcome. Even if I try to restart it or redo it, I still end up the all these 07s across the monitor. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you formatting before installation? If not, I would suggest doing so since it may be a strange form of virus/spyware.

Adding ontp DragonQ0105's suggestion I would also recommend that you ZAP your drive as well. We have several hundred of those machines(all purchased second hand, Citrix environment so we only need basic dumb terminals)and most of those machines came with virus's on them.

Yes, I formatted the drive.....any other suggestions

Try "fdisk /mbr", without quotes at the Dos Prompt. (this rewrites the master boot record so will eliminate any Boot Sector Viruses)

If not, try a friend's copy of windows.

Thank you DragonQ0105. That command worked. Now I have another problem with another pc which I will post.
