012E Addition 1

Over two years ago I installed in my church (with help from this forum) an ACS R7 and 4 port messaging module in a 5 slot carrier. The system has performed flawlessly and as a consequence my 71 year old brain has forgotten most of what it learned during installation and setup.

I am planning to install a 012E expansion module. I understand that I must move the messaging module to slot 2 and install the 012E in slot 1. I must also assign ports 31,32,33 and 34 to hunt group 7.

Is there anything else I must do when adding the 012E module?

If I do not use extension 30 can I continue to use selector code 3 in the main menu of the automated attendant, or will this cause a conflict with extensions 30 through 34?

You must also unassign 19-20-21-22 from Hunt Group 7. Easiest way would be to use the copy command, #399. First do #399-19-31-32-33-34 to put the new voice mail ports into the group, then #399-18-19-20-21-22-23-24-25-26-27-28-29 to remove the current VM ports, and also set up the new extension ports like one of your other phones (Ext. 18 in this case)

Yes, you can continue using selecor code 3, but you will not be able to direct dial any extensions that start with a 3, such as 30. You wont be calling 31-24 directly anyway, only through 777.

If you ever have to redo your menus, think about assigning selector codes starting at 9 and working backwards.
