012 ring gen question

if a system has two existing 012 w/ring cards, and an 012 'basic' was added, could the ring gen's in the first two be used for the 'baisc' card? (i.e. are ring generators shared accross cards?

yes, it is a system wide count. i have added cards to customers systems that they never put phones on just to get the ring generators.

The Ring generator on the 012 card or 016 card it will provide ring to the extension on the same card,there is an ring generator unit you can install inside the power supply to provide ringing voltage to all the cards in the cabinet.each ring generator inside the 012 card will ring only two extensions in the same time ,on the other hand the ring generator that you can install inside the power supply provide ringing to four extensions in the same time.I hope that helps.
