Just setting up IP Office 403 with VM Pro for the first time. I thought by default users would have mailboxes automatically created and active.

I think this might be a clue ( extracted from log below ):

0 mailboxes were open (but not active) when flushed

Here is text from VM Pro Server:

Help!

Mailboxes are created by default, this msg is normal when a VM is restarted & the mailboxes already exist.
If a user dials *17 does he get access to his mailbox?
if you call a user on nocalls do you get vm? (on 2030/2050 terminals you need to press vmail lo leave a msg)

When I do a *17 I see:

?Username Conn

In the display and I get continuous dead air.

Here is the log during the *17 event:

What is the "denied" message at the start of the log telling us?

Same sort of thing happens when calling a user in DND from another extension. Dead air and the Username and Conn in the display.

log from that event:

I believe somehow VM Pro and the IP Office aren't talking like they should. I am running VM Pro ( and also LKey and Manager on a system with some special routing/firewall software and also 2 NICS. I had to override the broadcast address in Manager preferences and point it at the static address of the IP office to get Manager working happily. I wonder if I need to do something simllar for VM Pro... or maybe have a closer look at what the firewall is doing with TFTP ports. I am running Manager now just fine, and also upgraded the IP Office 403 from 1.31 to v. 2.0 ( 16) without any but again it seems like somewhere along the line I had to specify the IP address for the IP Office.

any ideas are surely appreciated!

I think it might have something to do with my router/firewall application. I moved Voice Mail Pro over to a Win2003 server with no junk on it and it seems fine now.

I would say it was almots definatly your firewall.
as aditional info it is prefered practace to place the VM pc on a ficex IP address & enter that instead of the broadcast adress int the ststem/voicemal tab.
