I am Upgrading my customer from an Embedded VM (ICP 3300) to a Nupoint VM, the client used to use in the Embedded Voicemail box, the option: to join the'' cell phone'' press 1.
is there a way to duplicate this in a Nupoint user voicemail box?
I know I can do it with call director voicemail box but it's not user frendly (customer want's to have the ability de configure,activate/desactivate the option from his phone.

Call Director can be configured and activated from the phone.

Next?

Hi Kwb, can you give me an example of a documentation that speaks about configuring the call director from the phone?

Once you log into the mailbox, press *, this will take you to the Call director TUI

I'll see if I can find details, my quick look can only find options to set override and record greetings.

I know you have access more than that. (or at least you did)

I would just give the user access to the user portal to use the call director. It is much easier to point and click then wait through all the menu stuff on the dial in. Once you enable call director on the mailbox it should be a tab in the portal for it. They will probably have to be instructed on how to record everything because you will need to use * like kwbMitel says and then record via action id's.

If the user is not terribly technical I would set it up for them, or if lots of users want the option create a template and add that to the required mailbox's.

The customer would then have a main greeting (via action id), their name and their mailbox greeting. Assuming that your out dialing has been configured correctly, you may have to watch your COR on the outbound ports for external dialing.

Thamks Kwb and Alphamann,
I configured a User call director as follows:
press 1 to leave a message (transfer to voicemail 3534)
press 2 to be transfered to my cell (Alternate Transfer to 9XXXXXXXXXX).
1 works just fine, but 2 doesn't, I think I have someting wrong with the digits on the Alternate transfer, Do I need to use a different dialing plan?

I usually use a system speedcall on the 3300 and then use a blind transfer to it if you are setting it up for the user. There are a number of configuration issues which can cause the out bound to fail. The first one to test is doing exactly this. Setup a system speedcall, use it as a blind transfer from the menu. If it works then it is most likely an outbound dial config issue in the NuPoint. If it fails check the COS on your NuPoint ports and make sure the Public to Public and Public via DPNSS is enabled under the trunks section. Then we can go from there.

Agreed. Now you are trying to have the voicemail ports transfer a call to an external number and they need the correct COS and COR to do so. Would use the suggestion to use speed dials so you don't have to allow the voicemail to be able to dial 9. This can leave you open to toll fraud.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Anyone else and you need to throw it harder.
