I'm almost there!! When I removed the grouping I started getting numbers. Now I just need to get an average number of days open to go with this.

I had another formula in that location so it now reads
IsNull ({tasks.COMPLETED}) or {tasks.COMPLETED} = Date (0, 0, 0)and not({tasks.wotype2} in ["Account Request","Conference"])
but the report is still showing the Account Requests and Conferences

That didnt seem to work. The closest I have come is by grouping by month the {tasks.opendate} using (@gmt to local) in the details then filter by technicial and work order type. Using the (@gmt to local) gets me the times in local time.
