    Automatic answering/queue system

We have a number of lines that are normally fully staffed, but at weekends we operate a skeleton staff (ie less than the number of incoming lines). Is there a way I can configure incoming calls to be automatically answered and put straight on hold, rather than just ringing and ringing and...

    Cordless handsets

I'm looking for some cordless handsets for the Norstar - I've been told by BT that the only way to do this is to spend £200 on an analogue terminal adapter and then use a normal cordless phone (another £60 or so). Given that the normal Norstar phones we have cost about £50 each I'm a little...

    Altering behaviour of pressing '0'

Yes! That's exactly what I was looking for (which is a bit hard when you don't know what it is that you're looking for ;) Thanks.

    Altering behaviour of pressing '0'

I'm trying to remove whatever setting has 0 set to dial my extension number - I want them to have to dial the actual number. The problem is that I'm not 100% familiar with the Norstar, so I don't actually know why 0 dials me, or how to disable it. (Thanks for your help :)

    Altering behaviour of pressing '0'

Yep, that works. Out of interest, is there any way to have the prime line still be Intercom, but not have the 0 key then call my extension? (This would be my preferred solution because it involves no real change to the way the users use their phones).

    Altering behaviour of pressing '0'

A good suggestion, but unfortunately not really workable in our situation. We do call centre stuff for a number of companies, so we have multiple outgoing lines - the staff have to use the different lines depending on which of the companies they are dealing with.

    Altering behaviour of pressing '0'

I am cursed with some particularly stupid users and they don't seem to be able to grasp the concept of pressing '9' or a line button before making a call, so instead they just lift the handset and dial the number they are calling. Since all UK area codes start with a 0 this is the first button...

    Line programming

Yeah, I went into the Extention's Line Access section and removed the lines that I didn't need. I'm not sure which software version our Norstar is running, but it was only installed about 3 weeks ago, so I'm guessing it's a fairly recent version.

    Line programming

I was right, I was being extraordinarily dumb ;) I now understand much more about how the Norstar works - I was coming at it from totally the wrong angle before. Out of interest, does anyone know of any other forums/newsgroups/faqs/etc that cover the Norstar? I'm interested in learning more...

    Line programming

I'm sure I'm being completely stupid and have missed the relevent section of the Systems Administration Guide, but I'm trying to figure out how to re-program an extension to remove a line from one of its buttons (the line in question is a single analogue line, not a hunt group). Feel free to...
