How Screwed is the Dentist ? :)

Thank you so much! I forwarded everyone's replies to the dentist! He was surprised he'd found himself in this kind of pickle. So he instructed his staff to perform a regular back-up. Personally, I'd get a new computer, but hey what do I know? I only make $350,000 a year less than him...

How Screwed is the Dentist ? :)

This friend of mine works for a dentist whose only office computer runs o/s Win 95. On this only machine are all the patient files, all the billing biles. They do not back up the files at night, and they haven't done so in a long time. I keep telling my friend, "Gosh, you guys need to...

Screenshot image quality degradation in exported PDF

Hi. I'm well familiar with this. Save your images as pdf files (or wmf files) and then do a file > place. In Design does NOT support OLE objects. But when an individual file is PDF'd and then placed, the transfer is beautiful. View them - at least more clearly - by going to Edit >...

Text has a black square over it after pdf creation

Hi. This has happened to me - just recently - with a Visio file. Seems that the Visio file had a situation with its layers. I tweaked the layers in Visio and it PDFd fine. Maybe it's not a PDF setting, nor a distiller fix, but a tweak in your native document? Good luck!~ Sarcazmo

    Losing Information on PDF write

Hi. There's something in your last 30 In Design pages that are evidently corrupted. Try PDFing them in ranges of 5 pages. Once you do that you can better ascertain the exact culprit and beat it to submission! I suspect it's an image problem. If that's the case, you'll have to take out the...

    Why pictures so fuzzy?

Hi. I'm well familiar with this. Save your images as pdf files (or wmf files) and then do a file > place. In Design does NOT support OLE objects. But when an individual file is PDF'd and then placed, the transfer is beautiful. Because yours is quite a large file? View them - at least more...

    Keeping Subscripts Throughout

Oh, that just sucks the big one. Event driven macro? That's a whole other enchilada - one I've never bitten in to. How do you do that? Yikes! Thanks for help!

    Keeping Subscripts Throughout

How do you keep equations intact from page to page as illustrated here: V_ADUVLO-R where it must read: V-ADuvlo-r where the "uvlo-r" is in subscript. This entry will periodically change and effect the subsequent pages. I want the separate pages to recognize the change on the master...
