The way to do it in Draw is to select your bitmap, then select the shape tool (F10 on CDR 11) then Add lots of nodes and edit these, for instance to cut around a curve on the bitmap right click on the node and select 'to curve' then move the curve into the desired position. This can be verry...
I also use CDR 11 and export to PDF to print, I us Acrobat 6 and have no problems at all in printing from it. It may be that you need to mess around a bit in settings when you save as a PDF. But even then it should not effect you printing from Acrobat 6. Sorry that I can't help on this one.
