Hello,
I have a BE9.0 (build 4454) server running W2K SP3, which backs up a dozen servers successfully. I've pushed (and pulled) the remote agent onto another W2K server which is in its own workgroup. When I try to back this server up it manages between 5 and 20MB of data before grinding to a...
Thanks Justin, I don't quite understand though, do you mean giving the backupexec logon account specific rights to the mailbox that is to get the restored email (instead of the inherited 'service account admin' right?)
Gary,
I will have a go at Justins suggestion though I have some private...
Hi Marverick,
I found that knowledge base article too. It just goes on about rights, but if the logon accounts which I use to backup the file systems and exchange mailboxes have rights then they must have rights to restore too.
I can restore file system data with no problems. But when I try...
Hi,
I have a backup server with BE9.0 SP1 installed, with the remote agent and exchange agent added. I have an Exchange 5.5 email system on the same domain with the BE9 agent installed.
The backups work fine (much better than 8.6), one of the backup jobs backs up all the mailboxes and their...
Hi,
I've just done a BE9.0 install to backup remote servers (both NT4 and W2K.) I found the best way to get the agent on is to 'pull' the install from the remote server.
To do this, from the remote server:
Map a drive to the backup servers install drive
in a command prompt, on the mapped...
Ice,
Did you check the delegates of the meeting requestor and all the invitees? It only takes one. Other possible reasons could be either a forwarding rule, or one of the mailboxes has been set with an alternative recipient in Exchange (delivery options tab of the mailbox.)
Good Luck
Rich...
Yeh, check their delegate settings and see who has still got the 'delegate receives copies of meeting related messages sent to me' check box ticked.
This is a rather annoying setting which is enabled by default when the delegate is given editor rights to your calendar. Yesterday it worked.
Today...
Hello,
I have a user who is a member of a DL, along with 30 odd others in his office. When email is sent to this DL this user gets the email 30 - 60 minutes later than everyone else. He's using Outlook 2000 on a normal workstation. We're running Exchange 5.5 SP3 on NT4SP6.
Cheers [elf]
Yeah, delete his mailbox from Exchange Admin. What I tend to do is rename their current mailbox and the current mailboxes alias field, set up the new mailbox exactly the same (you will have to move any email addresses from the old account.) Once you've imported all the information from the...
If this error happens on your computer as well as his when accessing his mailbox then it only leaves one thing to try:
Go into his mailbox,
Export everything in it to a pst file,
Delete the mailbox,
Set up a new mailbox for him,
Open his new mailbox and import everything back in from the pst...
You think your email system is running well and that everyones happy until you get this sort of 'I want the system to do this' question.
A department has about 20 rooms which they wanted a calendar for each, which many staff would want to look at. A 'resource' mailbox for each would be...
You will need the MX record for domainb.com to point to the same place as your domaina.com.
Then in Exchange set your internet mail connector routing tab to accept domainb.com inbound.
When you set up new mailboxes you will have to manually add the second email address (I think.)
To add an extra...
You need to set the boardroom mailbox as a resource: load outlook as the boardroom, go to tools-options and press the calendar options button, then the resource scheduling button, then tick at least the first of the three 'automatic' options (I always tick the first two.) There is also a...
When you book the resource in a calendar appointment, do you invite the resource as a 'resource', rather than 'required' or 'optional'? I assume you have configured the resource calendar to 'automatically accept meeting requests and process cancelations'. [elf]
Thanks Jon, I'm not sure how helpful this will be, here are the first three out of 22 people in the list. The senders mailbox is on the BLACK server, whilst all the failed recipients are on the WHITE server. Both these servers are on the POST domain, the WHITE server is running the IMC.
Your...
Do you mean you want users to be able to update or add new Custom Recipients in the GAL? I don't think its practically possible (but I may be wrong.) The best work around I can think of would be to have a contacts folder in the public folders containing your list of external addresses where...
Yeah, I know what you mean, it isn't ideal. I'm going to have to do this to about 30 important, but not very computer literate users soon and I'm not looking forward to it.
Have you thought about using address book views to separate the three lists of mailboxes?
The easiest way of doing this would be to have two mailboxes, which 'me' owns. One mailbox with the email address of me@thisdomain.com and the other with the email address of me@thatdomain.com. Set the less used mailbox (me@thatdomain.com) to deliver its email into the other mailbox using...
Hi, on the subject of POP3, which I had to enable on our servers recently for a couple of mailboxes that needed it. However, whenever I create a new mailbox, it enables the POP3 protocol by default. Is there a way for a new mailbox to have the protocol disabled by default?
Thanks in advance...
The user does get an NDR, listing the users it failed to deliver to. The DL only contains members of the GAL, and the sent items email contains the full list of recipients (about 100.)
Thanks
