ActiveSync 4.5 rollout via Group Policy

Hi, I'm having trouble performing this rollout. During logon, it will say that it's installing the managed software Microsoft Activesync, but it fails the installation. The log only shows this: "1: ALLUSERS property is not 1 - this MSM cannot be used for a per-user or fallback-to-per-user...

    IIS Stops Responding

I mean... around 30 days of uptime. Wow... yeah, Monday! ----- Space travel's in my blood.

    IIS Stops Responding

I suspect it should happen any day now if it's going to occur... it usually happens around the end of the month! ----- Space travel's in my blood.

    IIS Stops Responding

Well, right off, I've noticed that the server is regularly tripping the alert for Pages/Second with values of 25, 31, 51, and as high as 61. Additionally, the %Disk Time is being barely tripped occasionally... with a value of ~53. Does this mean it's accessing the disk more often than it...

    IIS Stops Responding

Thank you for the response. I've given it a try... didn't see anywhere to specify a day to do it once a week, so I just set it for 3am everyday. ----- Space travel's in my blood.

    IIS Stops Responding

Hi, I have a problem where my IIS stops responding about once every 3 or 4 weeks. None of the websites come up, Treos no longer get email, can't even access it on the machine using localhost. No funny business in the event logs... it just goes away. Restarting IIS does nothing. Rebooting the...

    Group Policy: System.adm not displaying

Strange... under Computer->Administrative Templates... System is no longer listed. I've tried toggling all of the View/Filtering restrictions... but, it won't display. Any ideas? ----- Space travel's in my blood.

    Protecting a data center

Hi, we have a very modest data center in a small room without any type of temperature control or humidity control. I'm looking to change this, of course. But, I'm curious where to start. Would it make sense to throw in some sort of room air conditioning, along with a dehumidifier in the...

    Protecting information on CD-ROM

I looked at PGP in my intial round of assessing how to do this. I never downloaded it, but I understand there's a free version available for a single desktop. How difficult is it to use? ..and how hard is it for the end-user to extract the files? Thank you for your time. :) ----- Space...

    Protecting information on CD-ROM

Thanks for the tip. I ended up using the built-in support for encrypting a cd with Roxio Easy CD Creator--it utilizes 128-bit encryption as well. Very nice feature! ----- Space travel's in my blood.

    OWA has blown away.

To fix it, I clicked on the properties for the HTTP > Exchange Virtual Server, unchecked the Forms Based Authentication... checked it back on and applied the changes. Worked perfectly afterward. Strange. ----- Space travel's in my blood.

Calls to outside quieter than calls inside

    OWA has blown away.

Well, either the page file move or the restart fixed it. But, now OWA comes up, it just won't authenticate me. Hm... ----- Space travel's in my blood.

    OWA has blown away.

Actually, I'm lead to believe that it may be the fact that we're running very low on space on the drive we use for virtual memory page filing... in conjunction with a low amount set for virtual memory paging to begin with. Apparently, IIS starts refusing connections if it doesn't have enough...

    OWA has blown away.

Thanks for that tip... I'll be sure to do that. I definitely don't have a backup. ----- Space travel's in my blood.

    OWA has blown away.

The only change I believe I've made was when I tried to change the Directory Security of the Default Web Site to Grant access to everybody........instead of Denying access by default, only allowing "127.0.0.1" and "192.168.1.250/255.255.255.0". Maybe I applied it to the wrong "child nodes"; I'm...

    Protecting information on CD-ROM

Hi, I'm trying to find the best solution for protecting sensitive data on a CD, without trading off a whole lot of accessibility on the end-user end who will be accessing it. Basically, we'll be shipping data to a consultant and I want to put some sort of encryption/password on the data in case...

Calls to outside quieter than calls inside

To clarify: The user is saying that he needs to talk very loudly to some people outside of the company because they complain they can't hear him on their end. In-house, calls work well. Also, as I mentioned, a test call to my cell phone went well. power: I suspect that it has to do with the...
