Have a read of this "old" Crystal Decisions article. http://hosteddocs.ittoolbox.com/ST030504.pdf It explains how to produce Crystal Reports that export neatly to excel. With subreports it is a little more tricky than a "simple" report but it is possible. Make sure you have hidden every section...
You could try increasing the "Maximum Jobs Allowed" setting under the Servers section, Crystal Reports Job Server, in the CMC, to a larger number and see if that improves the situation. The default setting is 5.
You should be able to use the publishing wizard to publish your existing version 8 reports up to BOE XI R2.
If you have all of your version 8 reports in the folder hierarchy you wish replicated on BOE XI R2 then the publsihing wizard will create the folders for you.
You need to get hold of the document be_xi_r2_opendocument.pdf which details open document syntax. This is the syntax used to create hyperlinks to crystal reports once they have been published to CRS or BOE XI.
From within Crystal Reports, edit a formula, find your custom function under the function tree and right click on the custom function and choose Add to Repository from the submenu.
You can only save custom functions in the Crystal Repository. There is alot of information about how to do this in the online help.

Have a read of the following document.
http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/communitycs/TechnicalPapers/ce8_looping_logon.pdf
It discusses causes of "looping logons" in Crystal Enterprise
Note: This will probably not work.
The CE (and BOE) system database embeds the server name throughout the system database and is encrypted. Assuming the new server has a different name to the old server, this causes the problem.
So, while the restore and migration will go through smoothly...
There is reference to a similar problem at the Business Objects Tech Support site - support.businessobjects.com
Search for "memo crystal"
In particular the article...

If you choose "File" instead of "website on the internet" then it will not place the http://<servername> into the path.
Go to the BOE Admin Launchpad Screen
Launch Query Builder from the Administration Tools Box
Put the following query into the top query box:
select SI_ID, SI_NAME from CI_INFOOBJECTS where SI_OBTYPE=18
Click on the Submit Query Button.
It's not the most beautiful report but its quick and easy!
A universe is not stored in the same location as a business view. A Business View is stored in the system database.
A universe file is stored in the input file repository as a .unv file. The location of where in the input file repository it is stored is stored in the system database. It is just...
Ungulate is correct.
I should have added that following using the CCM to migrate the system database from one environment to the other, you will need to manually copy over the input and output file repositories.
The Import Wizard does not migrate scheduled instances (status recurring), just...
Read the following article on SQL deadlocks for an explanation. http://blogs.msdn.com/brismith/archive/2007/04/17/sql-deadlocks-and-the-project-server-2007-queues.aspx
If you install a tool like Mark Russinovich's brilliant Process Explorer on the server getting the deadlock error, (now owned...

When you view a repository custom function, the Custom Function Editor and the Custom Function Properties dialog box appear in read-only mode. (You cannot modify a...
