Vragabond, I have now changed it so that the footer stays at the 'bottom' by adding in to my #footer CSS; bottom:0; this now seems to have cured it. thanks.

I've done a quick cheat to fix it for now & that was to make the content in the home page a bit longer so it knocked the footer down. Not perfect but it's a workaround. If anyone know's why this is happening I would appreciate some guideance. Thanks.
