    Been there done that. Passive mode was worse, and yes there is an option in IE for it. I also tried switching on the MRU Negotiation flag in the modem. Increasing time out and buffer sizes in modem. Turn off the fire wall Turn off Antivirus stuff That's all I can remember at the moment
