How to run a program as Service on Windows XP - Srvany does NOT work!
I tried to install a program as a service on Windows XP Pro using both SRVANY.EXE (with Instsrvw.ex + srvany.exe) and a program from www.activeplus.com (Service +) - both fail. I got the same and did some sniffering - it seems that it's a DNS request (port 53) of a LDAP request and that must be te active directory synchronisation. In the sniffertrace you'll find the First_domain_site_name - that's the default of the first AD site. I tried to switch all syncing off...- Zombrero
