I need to put in a multi site exchange site.
The Client requires significant uptime. they already utitize MXLogic for Spam and availability of email delivery.
They have two main sites. Their Co-location and Head Office. All branch offices VPN into the COLO. COLO has 100mb internet connection...
I transfered a 223 MB file form the new server 3 miniutes, from the old serve less than a minute.
I used PRocess Explorer and fond a tonne of "NO SUCH FILE" and "NO MORE FILES" for the ldb for the access DB. Which doesn't seem to be any help.
more background; the new server is an SBS server...
I migrated a large amount of data over the weekend to a new much faster server.
Everything is fine except for an Access DB (MDE)
They can open the applications but it is very slow.
If I repopen from the original location its fine. So it has to be the server.
OpLocks was NOT disabled on the...
I have followed the step-by-step to configure this on the servers in the farm. Setup DNS with Farm name. But all connections go from Gateway go direct to what appears to be a RRDNS server. No session on the broker server.
Setup
DMZ = 2 Gateway servers NLB NATed
these operate as they should
LAN...
I should add.
I realize this works because I install the Certificate on the PC. But why when I create a self-signed cert, on a non-SBS server does Windows say it doesn't have enough info to trust the certifacte.
I am asking becuase I do not have the time to research.
Can anyone tell me why a certificate I issue from SBS for OWA etc is trusted by any PC I put it on? Even if it is a non-domain member?
Okay,
So I gave a group Delegated access to all the user OUS they need. And the "hard" part was remebering to change the scope in Exchange Admin to be a GC and use a DC from the parent domain.
Okay we have a user that is NOT a domain admin, or enterprise admin. We have an exchange setup in the parent domain, we want this user to create mailbox/accounts for all new hires.
The user is a member of a group that has delegated control to add user object in all child domains in the proper...
I have a site that had an existing, 2003 Exchange site on server 2003. We added a W2K8 with E2K7, migrated all the data and mailboxes.
The old exchange 2003 box was left in the site, and left on. It got forgotten until a power outage did it in. The system was restored from a restore point from...
So, I ended up ghosting the server to Hyper-V. No domain level issues. It's a little sluggish to boot, and integration services did not take. The Web server worked like a dream, used ghost to convert.
The good news is the client now sees the light as far as keepg technology up to date and wants...
traced this back to a faulty NIC driver. The server is going away but had to fix this in the interm. Funny thing though when you reboot you need to reaply the NIC driver or its slow again. Very strange. Thanks for the input though.
Okay, I have a IIS server on W2K. As you tell client is VERY slow at updating. So having said that lets leave out the obvious upgrade to current version etc, not going to happen in the immediate future, this issue needs to be fixed.
The web server is in the DMZ. Holes from the DMZ to the LAN...
I have converted a number of machines with this VmWare VM converter 4.x. Mostly 2003 servers, with hardware level RAID or mirroring.
I have a system with aging harware, running widows 2000 on dynamic disks with software mirroring. I can convert the machine, but it will not boot. Using VMWare...
Somehow, somewhere Authenticated Users was removed from HKLM\Software\Classes\CLSID with the READ permission to the whole key.
I found this out by turning on auditing and looking for failures. I ended up adding Domain Users in instead of Authenticated Users, I think this would only be a...
Okay, I put up TS. Domain Member.
Domain Users are members of Remote Desktop USers and Remote Desktop Users are permitted to logon to Terminal Services on this server.
The user Logs in, and never gets a desktop or process the login script. Explorer will not run. I can run process eplorer...
Okay so an FYI out there for anyone.
In the process of creating threse two VM, the VMDK were copied to a local drive on a system, running the vSphere client. so we could revuild the Storage Array. They were then copies back and added into inventory, all with vSphere client.
Well one VMDK...
Okay, I have a domain. 3 DC's. Too many but hear me out.
Oringally a TS was put up with AD in it. Problems arose. So we put a second server is for AD. AD was not removed the TS, becasue problems were still happening. So we VM converted the TS and brought the hardware back for diagnostics. What...
