    John, What is so frustrating, and why I can't find a common symptom is that many times after booting up the same way I always do, Pagemaker will execute normally.     BigJohnD, Thanks for the info, although my error msg is coded 0xc0000094, I don't know if that makes a difference. In any case, just how do I give all users read access to Dll & OCX files in the application folder and the Windows System folder? I presume I can't do this once Win2K has loaded...

    There is nothing in the Task Mgr (Processes) or otherwise that indicate that Pagemaker is running. There has to be a conflict with something else because at times I can just click the icon and the program will execute.

    I am running a PC and Win2k. I had to reload Pagemaker 7.01a onto a new hard drive. More often than not, when I click to execute program, I get a error message that says "the application failed to initialize properly". On other occasions, the program will load normally.
