Hi all,
I need to add a third hdd to my K8N motherboard which current has an "E" backup drive in addition to my C drive. I've created a image of the current C drive with Acronis and what I would like to do is add the new hdd, restore the image to it, and then use what is now the current C drive...
Hi all,
This may be the wrong forum for this but I'm hoping to get some advice. I'm the "official" tech guy for my wife, who uses Photoshop a lot. She has been using a NEC Multisync FE991SB but it is starting to die. Are there recommended CRT (or LCD) monitors for PS users?
Btw she has a Spyder...
Hi all,
My daughter just formatted ("accidentally" she says) my Lexar 512 Mb SD card. There are some photos on there I haven't had a chance to copy so I need to recover them. I see there are a lot of programs that claim to help with this but I haven't tried any of them yet and I'm wondering if...
Yes that has been suggested by the hosting company as well. I will do that.
Another question...I usually back up the site by publishing it to my local pc. Recently it has started to hang about 5 minutes into the backup and won't proceed. Is there another good way to back it up?
Gary
Yes it turned out to be a problem with the extensions due to the site containing more than 500 MB of files. Apparantly a sight with this many megabytes is tough for FP to load without corrupting the extensions.
The host uninstalled and reinstalled the extensions and it seems to be working now...
Hello all,
From time to time I make small changes to my site by going to the url with IE and then clicking the "Edit with FrontPage" button. When I do this I am usually prompted to enter my password. I then go ahead and make my changes and save them.
Yesterday I did this and while I was there I...
Recently my daughter confessed that she accepted and (choke) RAN an unknown attachment from an unknown user on MSN.
My first indication that something was amiss was that msconfig will run for about 5 seconds and then shut off. I tried taking a look in the AVG control centre and it also shut...
I have some photos that I need to partially rename. Example > Currently they are named ABC_0001, ABC_0002, ABC_0003, etc. I only want to change the first part of the name. So I need the names to DEF_0001, DEF_0002, etc. It important not to change the numbers.

Hi all,
I have a Corsair Voyager Flash drive 2 GB. I don't like the software that came with it. Is there a good (maybe free) software I can use to password protect it?
Tia for any info.
Gary
Yes I think the original drive went out...but very suddenly. However Acronis' image verified fine.
Basically at this point I just want to go to another software.

Acronis Backup has done a "stellar" (sarcastic) job of backing up my files. The user interface is easy to figure out and my wife who has a photography business and does a lot of work in Photoshop and hence backs up every day.
However, backing up is one thing...restoring is another. Last week...
I have tried from the external hd on which the image was created. Also I have copied the entire image file to my C drive and attempted the copying from there as well with the same error message.
I will verify the image when I get home as well.

I'm trying to copy some files from an Acronis image file of my previous Win XP Pro installation to a new hd with a fresh install of Win XP Home. Most of the files will copy fine but there are some that hang and I get a error "can't copy due to I/O error....file right protected".
Is this some...
I have imaged the drive with Acronis ( approx. 5 days ago) and as there have been only a few minor changes since, I decided to restore the image. Acronis hung on the "Analyzing the C drive" stage and then reported that it couldn't read some parts of the drive. I think the drive is gone.

Hi all,
Here's what is going on with my Win XP Pro Pc. It will post, etc, but goes to the Boot in Safe Mode, etc. screen. From there, no matter what I choose....Normal Boot , Safe Mode, etc, reboots back to the same screen. It sees the hard drives, Ram, etc.
I would do a restore using my Acronis...
