    pointed lines

I usually have the flame outlined with a different color using the stroke. Is there another way to outline it other than duplicating the shape and scaling it up to show around the edges of the top shape?

    pointed lines

I should have clarified that these flames are fill objects, not just lines. Its the "stroke" of the object that I can't consistently get to a sharp point.

    pointed lines

When drawing the end of flames, sometimes the ends are really pointed and sometime "squared off". A blunt flame point is not very cool. Any advice?

    checkered flag pattern?

Ok, I drew a square, clicked on the centered dot and got 4 boxes with the mesh button. Then I clicked in the center of each of those four boxes and now have 16 but I can't figure out how to every other box with black. Got it to "fill" once but only in part of the "flag" and the color faded...

    checkered flag pattern?

Oh boy, sounds complicated. Just haven't used the mesh tool much yet but I'll give a shot. Thanks for starting me in the right direction. Probably have more specific questions once I get started. Thanks again!

    checkered flag pattern?

Anyone know where I can find a checkered flag pattern to use for "fill" or how to make one?

    decal printing problems

I'm drawing graphics to be printed on adhesive vinyl and am having trouble finding a good printing company. I've tried two companies and both jobs came back with banding(little lines of different shades that look similar to when your inkjet printer runs low on ink). Happens on both solid colors...

Trying to span a large printout across multiple pages

Not sure if this will help but my inkjet does the same thing (a white border all around the image) but the drawing starts up on the next page where it left off on the first. If I trim off the margin one page and lay it on the clear margin, the drawing lines match up. May be different for a laser...

How do i create text INSIDE of text?

Foamcow, Thanks! Worked like a charm. Guess I could've read the manual but they didn't have a listing for "cutting a hole outta things". You get a "Star"!

How do i create text INSIDE of text?

Are you wanting to "cut out" the "O" inside the chrome "O"? If so, I'd like to know how to do that. I've drawn some letters from scratch and need to cut out the center of an "O" and an "R".

    Grouping

I think I've had the same problem. Pasted drawings on top of a photo and then tried to group some of the drawings and ended up selected the entire photo. I usually move all the background stuff to the side, group my drawings, then move the background back to its proper position. Also, there is...

    Can Halftone do this?

Not sure about doing this using vector paths - I'm still an infant on this program. I have been able to change the dot size by following blueark's instructions, then clicking on the object with the dots, going up to the "Appearance" Box and double clicking on the Half-Tone entry. A box will...

    Can Halftone do this?

Just got the dot problem solved but now I can't move the object on top of another one. Want this fading object on top of a different colored object and as the dots fade, the different colored object shows through. Am I asking too much?

    Can Halftone do this?

Thanks blueark, that worked but I'm also trying to use a larger pixel so as the color fades, you can actually see the seperate "dots" of color and as it fades, the dots gets farther apart. This style is used alot on offroad vehicle graphics. Any ideas?

    Can Halftone do this?

Want to fade a color from solid to clear using less dots or pixels so that the back ground color begins to show through. Can this be done in Illustrator CS?
