We have SharePoint Portal Services 2003 installed on "IP:8080" (where IP is one of our addresses like xxx.xxx.x.xxx). Our IT guy was asked to move SharePoint to the more normal portal 80, for an address of "IP". He was able to do that just fine, but then the users discovered a problem. Many...
Thanks for the answer, but it won't work for us as we have neither of these apps.
It does confirm that we just need to copy it locally and then upload it to the correct area.
Thanks for your help, I was afraid there was some clever thing that we just couldn't discover within Sharepoint (SPS)...
I think my problem is more with Sharepoint Portal Services 2003 than with InfoPath 2007 at this point. Please note that I have to use an older version of SPS and the new version of InfoPath.
According to my InfoPath 2007 book, I should be able to set up a "Data Connection Library" (DCL) in...
My company has SharePoint Portal Services 2003 which we are using as an intranet. We recently got InfoPath 2007 so that we could create forms used within the company. InfoPath 2007 allows our users to fill out forms in a browser, and will allow SPS2003 to host the forms.
I want to store data...
Hi, we are using SharePoint Portal Services 2003. I had a user request a new "sub topic" within a topic (which I created with a doc-lib), and she has some documents she'd like to move from a doc-lib in one sub-topic to the doc-lib in the new sub-topic.
I have moved files between doc-libs...
Yes, the usage report... Sorry it isn't what your customer was looking for. I haven't tried the GA as the usage report was able to satisfy what my bosses were looking for.

Sharepoint 2003 has something similar built into it. I was able to get the reports I needed by following pages 622-625 of "Microsoft Sharepoint 2003 Unleashed" (second edition) by Colin Spence and Michael Noel. It's a SAMS publication.
I hope this helps!

I have a SharePoint Portal (2003) as a company intranet, and have been given InfoPath (2007) to create and publish forms. We are all running Office 2003.
I have been googling for tutorials on Infopath and how to use it in Sharepoint, but am not finding much other than how to create a form...
I have a usage report generated from SharePoint Portal Services (we are still using the 2003 version), it is entirely in text. There are sections about Site Types, Lists, Contacts etc with lots of averages, totals, percentages and so forth.
Has anyone created a way to view this report...
I will apologise ahead of time - we are looking at purchasing MS Project Pro for a number of project managers scattered between various offices. I don't know Project yet, but I do have a trial version to try to become familiar with it. I think we are trying to avoid getting the MSProject...
I am creating a list with several columns to be displayed. One of the columns is a place to list a profile for a "point of contact" (POC) person. I have the POC profiles as Word Documents in a document library; I can get the url for it in the form of...
Thanks, Wolvie. Yes, I have been battling my administration to get Info-Path and do our forms that way. A huge benefit in using Info-Path would be the ability to store the info directly to a data base for future use and easy updating. Those of us who would like to use the information are...
I believe we want to be able to display and fill out the PDF form from Sharepoint and then either store the completed form on Sharepoint or email it (in this case, to our security dept).
I have discovered that we can create a Word form that the user can A) fill out, print, and fax or B)fill...
We have Sharepoint Portal and a user would like to create PDF forms to post there.
From what I have read, only xml-based forms that can be edited with Info-Path are allowed. We don't have Info-Path (and I'm having a hard time getting management to purchase it). I did discover that html forms...
Thanks for the tip. I wasn't aware of that feature, so I tried a few variations. I tried 5/page instead of the original 20/page. The big thread is towards the bottom, so the first few pages did indeed load quickly, but the page with the big thread took as long as ever. Since this seems to be...
I inherited care and maintenance of a Sharepoint Portal. On the main page of the portal is a web part called "Discussion Groups". Overall, it sees very little traffic, but there is one thread that has over 900 replies. Each week, each employee writes a brief weekly report in this thread...
Sorry I wasn't more clear. Our employees often work offsite and so may be anywhere when they try to access the intranet. The contents of the Intranet still need to be inaccessable to the general public.
I continued researching my questions after posting here and found some specifics to ask my...
