I think that what you have read is incorrect. Almost every one of the backups that I have performed have been using the lan2 port on the BCM. You just have to make the IP address on your lap top/ Backing up PC in the same span as lan2.
I.E. --> Lan2 IP = 10.10.11.1

I have a cust. system where I went in to schedule a reboot and the option was not there. It was not just unavaiable it was no where to be seen. This system was upgraded from 3.5 to 3.6 but both of those platforms offer the scheduled reboot option.

In the location field, the way that I have been successful is using the IP address of my laptop and then I have created a shared file titled BCM_Backup. so the entrty in that field should look like this.
\\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\BCM_Backup
I've also used my partners laptop and the BCM doesn't like...
