Thanks for the replies. I thought that transferring may be necessary. I'm just surprised that Nortel didn't implement a feature code to pick up a POTS line on an ATA. Maybe they want people using Norstar phones! :-)
Hi everyone,
I have a 3x8 DR5 and an ATA2. If a user on a M7310 holds a call on a POTS line (eg. Line001), how can the user on the ATA pickup the call? I really don't want to have to implement Park here, or transfers, if at all possible.
Thanks,
Matt
Ok, so I should increase the DN length from 3 to 4 digits, then do a F983, and start rebuilding the AA, CCRs and mailboxes? Also, will the mailbox no's be 4 digits as well. What about the park codes, 4 digits now after the DN length change?
Thanks,
Matt
Ok, so now that the consensus is that they don't work, are there any alternative solutions. This is for an existing home, and have no possible way to run copper to this location. Thanks again!

bkrike,
I'm talking about the wirless phonejack without copper cabling.

Just wondering if they would work with corded norstar terminals?
Thanks,
Matt
Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone had connected digital norstar extensions to the KSU using a wireless phone jack system. I understand that it will work if an ATA is used using a standard phone, but was wondering about the digital phones. Anyone have any experience or other...
Hi everyone,
I need to increase our DN length from three digits to four digits. I'm OK with the fact that it will add a 2 before all of our DNs. All of our current three digit DNs begin with a 1, ex. 100-120. Therefore, all new DNs will be 2100-2120. However, I'm concerned what I have to do...
Hi,
Thanks for the info so far. Acutally, I solved the issue without enabling the Touchtone Gate. I simply created a CCR tree (there was none before), and the default transfer to the operator takes place immediately after the CCR menu plays once. Exactly what I wanted.
Thanks,
Matthew
Hi everyone,
I've got a CICS 6.1 with a CP100 and 8 T7316e sets. We have the CP set to answer all lines immediately. Users can either hit their desired extension or press 0 to go to a hunt group. We have some customers that are STILL on rotary phones, lol, and the time it takes for the...
Hello everyone,
I've got a CICS 6.1 with a CP 100. All trunks are copper, and the system is setup PBX style with all CO lines assigned to Line Pool A. I'm having some issues with transferring to an external number from voicemail. I have it set in the CP to use Pool A to use for the transfer...
Thanks for everyone's posts so far. Bkrike, sorry about the T7324, I didn't read the post correctly. I am considering the ATA for the cordless phones, however, if I went without an ATA, how would I wire the cordless set ahead of the 3x8? Could I just use a splitter on a CO jack and do it that...
I was thinking about 7310s for most of the areas, and maybe a 7324 at my desk. Am I missing a lot with only the DR1 software (not DR5 or 5.1)? Like I said earlier, I don't need any advanced features like a CICS, just a system to do intercoms, pages, and use 2 CO lines with. I will NOT be...
Hi Everyone,
I've just got done putting in a new CICS 6.1 in at my office, and I was thinking about putting a 3x8 in at my house, now that I feel more comfortable with the Norstars. Here's the deal, I'd like to keep this system as cheap as possible. I've got a few questions:
1) I was...

Thanks exsmogger,
Are bad power supplies a big issue with the Classic Merlins? I just don't want to get one and have it be toasted by the end of the week, if you know what I mean. I was just wondering how big of an issue the power supplies are.
Thanks again!
Matthew
Aussie88,
Thanks a bunch. Are the power supplies replacable, or is a whole new 206 in order if the old PS dies? Its not a big issue, since a 206 is really cheap these days. I will definitely get a FP2, and the BIS terminals. This may sound kinda weird, but I'm REALLY glad to hear that this...
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a small, inexpensive phone system for my home. I've always liked the looks of the classic merlin series and was wondering what the rate of failure on these were. I'm looking at the 206. I don't need VM or anything special, just a few phones networked together to...
Hello,
This may be an odd question, but I'll ask it anyways. We have several Definity users here who want to have the Definity rings for their ringtone in the PhoneManager application for when an inbound call comes in. I know that these are just wav files, but I can't seem to find the wavs of...
