    Symantec AV/F for Exchange - unscannable attachment

    I have the same problem. It also has an issue with power point attachments. I installed a newer version of AV that was provided by Symantec. It was better but not perfect. I then changed the default rule to "log only" so that I was not blocking valid attachments.

    OWA keeps prompting for password only for certain users

    This may or may not help, Are you serving up multiple domains on this server? If so, in order to access OWA, the user needs to have a valid email address for the base domain.
