did ctrl C and the shutdown continue normally (next step stop errpt ...)
Do you know what is trying to do at the step " Wait for 'Rebooting...' before stopping" ?

on the power5 there i no more the possibility to do the calculation of how memory the hypervisor used... On power4 we could do it but no more on power5. But IBM said on power 6 we still can't do it :-) but the hypervisor will use less memory than p5... will see then.
I am not helping but ..
I use the SAN boot and if I lose my power system or lpars I just restart the lpar from another power system and it took 10 minutes no problems at all everything perfect if you have design properly everything (network connection, SAN conf, lpar creation etc...)

Could you give a view of your nim resouces: lsnim -l your script
It will be better if you create one script that can call other scripts and use it as resource script and you should not have a pb. This is what I do and I have everything customised users, lv, fs, etc...

I did this several time and also remove the client and recreate it and also remove the network resource and recreate it properly etc...
but still the problem.
do you know if the fact that having the error about the tftpd on the syslo.log : Request Timeout could be a network pb ?

well well well I have enough to try so what I did I have use my savevg tape and restore to a spare machine attached to a tape and then restore the filesystem remotely using tar command....
I didn't want to use tar because I never if everything was restored fine and with the good access...
I tried several things but still not working... thanks for help
I am continuing to try as I need it to be restored...
