Sorry for my ignorance, but I'm not sure what you meen by it still requires activation. Illustrator was installed when I upgraded from CS1 to CS2 and all the other CS2 programs are working properly. Is there an activation dialog box I am missing? Thanks for the help! Mark

Select the text you want to change the spacing on, and in the middle of the measurements pallet there are a couple of arrows that let you adjust the kerning and tracking. Mark

If this is a quark question, double click on the bottom box. A dialog box should pop up. Change the run-around to 0. That should solve the problem. mark

What I would do is go to your document setup and change the page size to 11X17 (Doublepage Spread) and build your document on that page. All you need to worry about is not putting important information in the gutter area. The printer should take care of everything else when they rip the film. Mark

Thanks for the help. I tried to do it through the Auxiliary dictionary but it couldn't find any file to link to establish to. I never thought of throwing out the preferences even though I've done that to numerous times to mention in Photoshop and freehand. I'll have to give that a try next time...

The only way I know of to change the opacity of a picture is if the picture itself is a greyscale image. If it is a GS image you can also change the color of the image as well as the opacity.
