    i reset my router and still nothing, but when i went into my DNS server addresses, they were reset to zero - never thought to look at that to start with ... everything is fine now. thanks for your time!

    i didn't want to post a new thread on this because my problem is similar, but i resolved the hijack problem and it resulted in another one. i hope someone can point me in the right direction before i consider re-formatting my hard drive. i cleaned out the bad objects with hijackthis...
