Hard Drive failure odd problem ???
Hey, I had a similar problem, see my post titled "BSOD stop error 24 ..." I also could not boot to my drive, nor boot from the windows XP file system, but I was able to boot to DOS and use ntfsreader.exe to recover my files. The program is free at ntfs.com.
