RRAS service depends on the REmote Registry Service in order to be configured.
Go ask MS why it is not listed when you right click on RRAS and go to the dependencies tab.

well, on your 1st suggestion, I thought about that. But, RRAS is not in the add/remove programs.
and 2 Under dependencies, it showed RPC which is started and NEtBIOS group, which I did not even see.
Any suggestions on the NETBIOS group ? Thanks carlos

I am trying to take my MCSE by the end of this year, do you think this would be something they would test on , or just ask a few questions on ? I just dont want to use a router for ease of use, instead of learning how to handle the server and ultimately do better on my test and on a site.

Faithless, I have two nics on my box (A7N8X Dlx 2.0). Is there an advantage to a router or no ? And, thank you for the tip on assigning the gateway, I read somewhere else, DHCP could not do that (MSTechnet :P ) Thanks for the reply.

Well, I do not know if this wil help, but under the forward lookp zone properties I tried resolving the nameserver and it told me The Ip address associated with the Ip record could not be found. Now, what is that all about ?
