Your play sound worked. still cant find any solution for long filenames. i did search, only thing i found was a suggestion i use short names. not really an answer.

.cc in visual dbase is a custom configuration class. it has many functions. the compiled version is .co.
it sounds like you're not sure IF IT IS dbase??
is their a file(s) in your program folder, .exe or .DLL that indicates dbase?? if not, sorry, NOT dbase.
otherwise, is your program an *.exe...
recently upgraded to xp from 98. Can Not get my bell chr(7)to work. worked fine under 98 ???? i realoly need it, i use it for dbuging. i'm using dbase 5.5

i have a complex payroll program (paybear2k.com)that i started writing in dbase5 (win95) and continued through 5.5 (win98). i switched to winxp and everything works fine except long filenames, can't figure that one out.

when using one compiled.exe to process information then call another .exe for other processing, dbase 5.5 trys to call the second .exe BEFORE completing the first one. since i'm useing the SAME .dbf files in both of course the second .exe can't open...
