In search of CSS trace codes

Hi, Does anyone have a list of the Mitel proprietary codes Mitel inserts on trunks in de Service Request Messages? E.g. I know *58*C3 inserts the COR, COS and Interconnect Restriction, but what do the other codes (like C4, C6 etc.) do? I tried fiddling around with some of the set, trunk and...

    IP TRUNKING

Whosrdaddy, You're right, G729 is not an "ideal" codec. But I think CODEC's are always a trade-off; using compression does save a lot of bandwidth. I agree on your recommendation, but why do you favour G729A over G729AB? Annex B implements Voice Activity Detection, but is otherwise identical...

    TRIPI

Some strange values, indeed. What strikes me is that the numbers are not only extremely high (we're talking about 5 or 10 seconds of jitter here, that's way beyond your jitter buffer's capacity), but also that they're almost the same. Could it be a "measurement error"? After all the MD's VoIP is...

    DBC422 IP Phone

Have you tried using the same cable with another device? Are any devices on the same or on different segments? If not, are you sure ip is set up correctly? Have you tried capturing the Ethernet frames coming from the phone and/or DHCP server and run them through a protocl analyzer (e.g...

    BP250: VoIP a jitter problem

How do you know the problem is jitter? (The MD110 and Dialog phones can show you relevant QoS-statistics, can the BP do this to?) You can try to diminish this problem 'at the source' by (re)configuring your network. An increase in jitter buffer will also introduce more delay, which might even...

DNA: "Transfer" Extensions data from EMG to DMG

What are you trying to 'transfer' from EMG to DMG? There's not much they have in common... After all, they are designed for very different tasks. However, there are ways to transfer 'NIINI-names' to DMG and vice versa.

    Problems with MD110-IP-Telephony

Do you still have these problems??? Could you be more specific about it?

    Alex error

Hi, Have you tried Alex 6.2 or 7.2 yet?

    Calling number identification

'By 'normal' phone you mean an analogue extension, I presume. The CLI you get from a public network, is just a feature that some networks provide to you. Sometimes you have to pay for it. All this is also possible on an MD110, even for analogue sets. You get CLI on Digital, ISDN, cordless and...

    Call Diversion for Hunting Group

In BC12 you can make it possible for any member of the group to divert the group, without the need for a Master Extension.

    Intrusion on BC9

Have you checked SERV of all sets? All sets involved in the connection (including C-party) must allow intrusion, i.e.: have value 02 in D3D4 of the SERV-parameter. Intruding party must have at least 05 in D3D4 or anyway -of course- higher ICL than the party intruded on. Remember that only...

Justifications to upgrade BC11 and DNA 5.1

Why do you think CCM is useless for you? Why was iFor such a pain to install? Have you considered Solidus eCare for your CC needs?

    Secure dial-in modem

To mdfan: Altough tested in 'lab conditions', this IS intended to be a solution to a real life (and what a life it is!) problem. To lalrl: Indeed, there was no special reason for using TYPE=FIX, other than the two modems being in fixed positions. Of course you can use this for a 'mobile modem'...

    Secure dial-in modem

Sounds good! I've toyed around with RE for this before, but didn't think of using TC yet. I've tested it and (of course) it works ok! This is what I did (for those interested in reproducing the result): /* CREATE R1 NUMBER (0302846999) */ NANSI:NUMTYP=R1,NUMSE=6999; /* CREATE SEPARATE ROW FOR...

    Secure dial-in modem

I am trying to get a solution to the following: I want to secure a dial-in modem by only allow one specific (public) A-party to dial in, e.g. by CLI. Since both parties are modems, DISA with AC is not an option. I use ISDN (PRI) trunks with DID. Any ideas?

DBC 425 : How to set screen contrast ?

I tested it too. On a DBC413 R6J it doesn't work at all, but on a DBC425 R2A it works ok! Great tip! Have you got any more of those? (Like other commands or parameters you can set?)

    time updates in the UK

You can use MD110 Support (DNA tool) to sync the MD110 time automatically (scheduled, e.g. every night) with the time on the DNA server, including daylight saving. If you sync your DNA server with a reliable time source, your time will be much better than the standard MD110 clock can provide.

Justifications to upgrade BC11 and DNA 5.1

According to Ericsson new sales for BC11 will stop in Q3 this year, but better ask your local reseller about their plans. It's probably better and/or more economical to skip BC11 and jump right up to BC12. Your reseller should also be able to give you a list of improvements and new features...

    IP phone & Tone

Various tones for EBC IP-phones are defined in the config-files. This is also covered in Alex (the part about the cofniguration files for IP-phones).
