    Browser like Interface

Hi, hope you can help me with this VBA enhancement. I am working on a project using the application PI. It utilizes VBA similarly to Excel etc. This is the situation, I have a main page and there are rectangular boxes that when I click on, will take me to a "display" (graph or trend). Right...

Where to write code for VBA?

Hello, Just as a clarification for best practice, can someone tell me........? Say, I open Excel. I have Book1. I go into VB Editor, and I see in the project tree that I have VBAProject(Book1). And if I open another new Worksheet, I get VBAProject(Book2). Then under VBAProject, the tree...

Thanks, but I don't think that's the place....... tried it. It sets the folders but it doesn't point to specifics.....

Default File Open Location for entire Computer

Where is the registry setting that determines the default pointer to a specific folder when opening, saving as files in programs? If there isn't, is there a workaround? Applicable for Win XP and 2000 would be great. Thanks.

Slow local file reading because of mapped drives

Dear BCASTNER and SIOXLEY, It sure worked!!!! D@mn you're good BCASTNER!!!! Apparently, it probably wasn't so much of my machine running slow looking for the files, but the office's LAN setup is not very good, in my opinion......too much security to go through before doing anything...

Slow local file reading because of mapped drives

Hey Simon, I don't think it's quite possible now. I tried it at work...... If I need 10 mapped drives, that would mean I would need 10 shortcuts on my desktop...... Wouldn't that be kinda messy? Well, looks like that's the best..... the autoexec.bat file provided by IS is blah blah...

    Word XP

To use this procedure, you must be using Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express, Microsoft Exchange, or any 32-bit e-mail program compatible with the Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI). Open or create the file that you want to e-mail as an attachment. On the File menu...

Best practice for single user of Windows XP at home

Thanks Linney.....for your troubles....no offense, but I'm not really a novice when it comes to the importance of protecting my system. I was really looking more on the lines of Best Practices, how users from experience would setup Windows XP's funny Document and Settings accounts. But by all...

Slow local file reading because of mapped drives

I think I kind of get what you're saying..... but just to clarify more...... we have servers that hold specific information that is used frequently, so, anyone with the right priviledges (me in this case) would have permission to map to it. So, when I map a drive, I would check, "reconnect at...

    Formatting options of unpartitioned area

Wow, thanks.... didn't expect an answer so quick. I guess what I gather from the articles above, I do not have to worry about this cylindrical boundary thingy. Formatting the drive wasn't a problem, I just didn't know what the 8 MB was for.... but thanks though.....you must really know how to...

Slow local file reading because of mapped drives

At work, we run Win 2000 Pro. I'm mapped to alot of drives all over the country. This make opening files from the dropdown box in the open file dialog very slow (I think). Is there a way to get connected to all of them automaticaly at logon but have a folder outside the MyComputer frame, so...

    Formatting options of unpartitioned area

When I was reformatting my hardrive, I deleted all the partitions. And it happened so fast that I cannot remember, but I hit something on the keyboard and it created a special F: partition and it said something like special files used by Windows. However, I deleted it because it was the major...

Best practice for single user of Windows XP at home

I recently formatted my computer and installed Windows XP Pro. I'm the only one using it at home. It defaults to the out-of-the-box Administrator account, which is fine. However, my question is, should I be using this account? I've heard from some that it doesn't matter, or that I really...
