You got your DNS entries all set up? The domian may be doing a reverse lookup and rejected your mail as it can't find a reverse lookup entry for it.

    Ideal OS for Proliant 5000 w/ 4 CPU's?

I have exactley the same set up as yourself, doing pretty much the same duties. I'm running Win2k server (NOT advanced) and it's been great. Hasn't missed a beat and current uptime is 50+ days (but I've a few updates to apply so a reboot is due soon). Compaq provide good driver support for...

    2 Network Cards for Bandwidth

Yes, there is. There is an option called Teaming, but I don't know whether it would work with Non compaq cards.

    AD setup

The sites are not connected at the moment - both have DSL lines out to the WWW. Previously, if we wanted to tranfer stuff between sites, it would be either done via email, FTP or PC anywhere.

    AD setup

You've pretty much answered ever thing, even with my Vague details! :) I have 2 Physical sites. Each site has a permanent internet connection, however, the IP address for this connection is Dynamically assigned by the ISP. The problem I envisaged, was connecting site 2 to site 1; Site 2 will...

    AD setup

Just starting to plan AD for my two sites, and am looking for some advice.I've done some reading up and browsed all the AD threads here too, so go easy on me please! Both sites have permanent internet connections, but with dynamic IP's. Is there anything to stop me starting the DCpromo using a...

    expanding hotplug drives

Having done this recently, I found the easiest method is simply to backup the Entire machine to tape drive, reinstall a basic OS and restore the backup.

Basic Questions for 2000 server DC and 3 XP workstations

When you try to add the workstations to the Domain, do you get any sort of error response? Have you set the server up to be an AD domain controller? With only 3 workstations, it would work equally well as a workgroup server

    Only admin can log in

no, tried that too. Strange thing is that the W98 clients on the network can log in no problem! Only win2k clients can't! AAAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!

    Only admin can log in

Got a windows 2000 small domain an this is driving me nuts! I've created several user accounts, but none of them can log in! You can log in fine as administrator from any of the workstations, but when users log in, they're asked to change their password - then get told they do not have...

    Tick tock, syncronising clocks!

Trying to syncronise all clocks on the domain to the PDC. It's an all win2k domain, with a single win2k server. So in the logon script I've tried net time \\pdc /set /y. Works great on my machine, but then again, I've got Admin rights! Anyone without admin rights (everyone else!) and it don't...

Intel VS. AMD for a server?

Cheers chaps, the P3 it is. It's running everything on the Small business server package except SQL but even so, I've pursuaded my mate to go for a gig of memory :)

Intel VS. AMD for a server?

As a favour for a friend, I'm installing Small Business server 2000. However, I've a choice of PC's to use as a server. It's either P3 450 or Duron 800.Whichever board and processor I use, it's getting loaded with 512mb of memory and mirrored 20gb hard drives. There's only going to be five...
