Hi jimoblak
Thanks for the clarification on the first point. I must have been thinking about which versions of Quark can save to different version files at the time.
As for the InDesign thing...I was only basing it on (the incorrect assumption) that if you could not open up earlier versions of...
Before buying, make sure it is a true postscript print.
Also check to see if the printer support Postscript Level 2 or 3. Level 3 is still relatively new. I never used Brother printers so I cannot comment on them.
I would check out HP laser printers. There are pretty solid performers. I...
Quark 6 will not open any files saved below verion 5.0. Blame it on Quark.
The only work around is to use Quark 5 and resave the Quark 4 files as version 5.

Reinstalling the Quark program from the CD should have fixed this problem.
Are you using any font management programs like ATM, Type Reunion or Suitcase?
You could try trashing the related preference files. Rebuilding the desktop or zapping the PRAM could not hurt either.
A little background info....I have Quark file named "Logo Ads." It was created in Quark 5 and converted into a PDF file using Acrobat Distiller v5.0.5. The file uses different fonts (Type 1) and graphics. No color, just bitmap and grayscale images, All the fonts and graphics were embedded in the...
