You don't actually need to format anything before the install as the WinXP installer will ask you if you want to create and size partitions on any disks it finds.
It doesn't sound like you are doing anything wrong at all.
Maybe try booting from a Win98 floppy, running fdisk and destroying any...
Odd. When you boot from the CD does the WinXP pro setup automatically start - loading drivers etc etc etc - you'll see them scrolling across the bottom of the screen.
You shouldn't have to double-click on anything to initiate setup.
Is this CD 1) legit 2) full or 3) upgrade?
Tim
Are you booting from a Win98 floppy disk? That may be the issue. Just let the PC boot from the WinXPPro CD (change the PC BIOS to allow this) and follow the prompts from that.

>Anyway, Veritas do not backup the OS of the Unix right?
Utterly wrong. Who told you that?
It most certainly does backup Unix. I have 400 Solaris boxes here and I don't want to tell the CEO he wasted $1.5m on licences....

I would suggest you read the Veritas support site for details of the FP6/MB6 upgrades. There is a post FP6/MB6 patch that should also be installed. And again you should really read up on this before doing it. We just upgraded FP3 to FP6 on one of our Netbackup 4.5 clusters and it wasn't plain...
Do you mean Maintenance Pack 6 or Feature Pack 6?
Either way it's cumulative. You can go straight to 6 if you want to.
Please make sure you check the readme thoroughly and a have verified catalogue backup before you run the upgrade.

Yes, there is. It's called Veritas Cluster Server. In my setup I typically have a 3-node active/active cluster. Multiple cluster volume groups containing virtual servers reside on node 1. Disk is presented over the SAN. Nodes 2 and 3 also have their own volume groups and virtual servers.
So...
PGPhantom - can you say what issues you've encountered with FP6 please? We're on FP3 here and are being encouraged towards FP6 - mainly because it then supprts W2k3 SSO SAN Media Servers.
Thanks - Tim
You can have the My Documents folder anywhere you like - it doesn't have to be in %systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents.
You can point your Outlook files to anywhere as well.
On my work PC there is a local admin account which I don't use, but my LAN account has local...
Hi comtec17. I'm using x2 LP9002's per server with VxVM providing the DMP at OS level. So the disk is seen twice by VxVM abfter being mapped once per HBA in elxcfg.
Is this RDAC driver for Unix only?

>Personally - I would stay away from FP6 - There are know >issues and you may get more 52 errors.
Can you go into more details please? We're being pushed towards FP6 here to allow SSO under Windows 2003.
